The hypothesis behind "Ocean::Grass" is to express the relationships between the two through the use of only color and type. On first thought, one sees them as being highly dissimilar. After all one is water and the other a fibrous plant, with seemingly little in common. In actuality, the ocean and grass are very similar. They each cover wide expanses of the earth’s surface. They move in the same undulating ways ebbing and flowing with the winds or tides. The sounds one hears while lying in a field are eerily like the sounds one hears lying on a beach — only the calls of the birds differ. Comprised entirely of the letters of each entity this piece was designed in Adobe Illustrator and Flash Pro. Currently "Ocean::Grass" is being considered for publication by Thomson Learning, Inc.
